Responsible Procurement

Print this page

BBVA's relationship with its suppliers is governed by the Group’s Code of Conduct and is based on respect for the law, commitment to integrity, competition, objectiveness, transparency, value creation and confidentiality.

This Code also includes a number of procurement principles that apply to all those who take part in the procurement process. At BBVA our aim is that our suppliers comply with our social and environmental standards, as well as applicable legislation and the United Nations Global Compact principles.

In 2011, BBVA worked on drawing up a Global Responsible Procurement Policy for the Group, with advice from independent experts. The ultimate aim of this policy is better management of environmental and social aspects of the group’s supply chain and their integration in the Global Procurement System.
